Pastoral Search update and decisions
Our search committee met in May and recommended an outside candidate to the Elder-Oversight Board for review. After an in-person interview with the candidate, the Board voted not to proceed to a candidating weekend for that individual.
They moved to the next candidate who was Pastor Adam Williams. An interview was help with the Board and Adam, followed by an open Q&A where questions were accepted ahead of time and the floor was open for comments. The next day, a straw poll was taken from members and non-members to gage the interest of the congregation.
When the Board met, they reviewed the poll numbers and found only 71% of the members were in favor of Adam. Slightly more of the non-members were in favor. With this information and a variety of information they gathered in this season, the Board voted 4-2 against calling Adam to be the lead pastor at KAC. They simply feel he is not ready at this time for this position. Due to the fact that Adam is well loved and his family is a dear part of our church this has been a difficult decision.
