What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Kenmore Alliance Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines. We are part of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Denomination.

God

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  He is the creator of all that exists - himself excepted.  He is worthy of all glory and praise.  He is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice and mercy.  He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Revelation

God has revealed himself through creation and the holy scriptures, the Bible.  The Bible is the inerrant Word of God.  Jesus Christ, God's Son, is his final, visible revelation of God since he is the visible image of the invisible God.

Mankind

Human beings, both male and female are created in God's image and for his glory.  The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created innocent and without sin and appointed by God as caretakers over God's creation.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they fell under the curse of sin, distorting the image of God in them and us, becoming sinners in need of redemption, severing that initial relationship and imparting both sin and death to all humanity.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us to God, forgiving our sins and restoring that broken relationship caused by sin.  Jesus Christ died on the cross in order to pay the penalty that our sins deserved, turning away God's just wrath.  God raised him from the dead so that now he offers salvation and the gift of eternal life to all who place their faith in Christ's finished work of redemption.  This gift of salvation is entirely by God's grace and is in no way a matter of good works.  This salvation is found in no one except Jesus Christ.

The Church

The church is the visible "body" or manifestation of Christ.  The church's mission is to preach the gospel of salvation through Christ, making disciples of all nations by testifying to this salvation through Christ.

The Final Judgement

One day Jesus will return to this earth to judge both the living and the dead.  He will then usher in an eternal kingdom of righteous and peace where the Triune God will live among us and where he is loved and served forever and ever.
