C&MA General Council Decisions

Our denominational Council met in May 2023 and voted on some changes to the polity of the Alliance. You can read a one-page summary here. Each local congregation has the autonomy to interpret these beliefs within the boundaries the denomination sets. You can read KAC's statement of gender roles as specified in our by-laws HERE.

FAQs - Things you might be wondering

How long will this process take?

Our District Superintendent said 6 months to a year would be likely. Depending on the candidate it could take more or less time.

How can I give my thoughts on the process?

We have set up a dedicated email to collect thoughts, comments and concerns. This will help streamline the information and keep it all in a single place. You can send thoughts and comments to search@kenmorealliance.com

How is the Pastor chosen/called?

According to our Bylaws, the Elder/Oversight Board call the Lead Pastor. Before that, the Search Committee will review applications, resumes and references. Once they have narrowed that down, they present the candidate to the Elders. There will be time in the process for the congregation to meet the candidate, experience their preaching and interact though no congregational vote is necessary to proceed.

Jones Family Updates

We are thankful for the 18 years of pastoral leadership Charles has provided to Kenmore Alliance Church. He began his ministry here as a Worship Pastor and transitioned about 6 years ago to the Lead Pastor role. His wife Michelle has been part of this church her whole life, growing up with KAC as they moved from a small church in Kenmore to the current and larger facility here in Tonawanda.

Charles and his family will be moving to Mississippi to plant a church! This is a big change, a big calling and a big move. But we serve a BIGGER God who has all these things in His hands! We send them out with blessings, though that is met with both joy and sadness.
