LATEST NEWS:

April 12, 2024 - Search Committee and Staffing Updates

The search committee has been diligently meeting nearly monthly since last May, collaborating with both the elders and the district superintendent to find the right candidate for KAC. We continue to work together to vet and discuss the candidates that have been provided thus far. We remain confident in God's faithfulness, assured that His timing is perfect in guiding this process. Should you have any thoughts or suggestions, we encourage you to connect with a member of the search committee or send an email to search@kenmorealliance.com. Thank you!

Staffing updates:

As we adjust to our new season of ministry at Kenmore Alliance, some job duties have shifted and we want to bring attention to some of those.

  • Ryan Garey is taking on roles with IT and updating our WIFI systems.
  • Victoria Spencer is managing graphics and announcements.
  • Susanna Toledo will be moving out of Kid’s Ministry and will be focusing her efforts on Clothe Me Co-op. We want to thank her for these last couple years she spent with our kid's ministry and look forward to seeing her gifts continue to be utilized with Clothe Me Co-op.

If you have any questions about these changes, feel free to speak to Adam Williams, Interim Lead Pastor.

July 26, 2023 - Search Committee Update

Our Bylaws state that when we are looking for a new Lead Pastor, the Elder/Oversight Board will appoint a Search Committee. This Search Committee is composed of elders and lay members.

  • Jeff Camp, Vice Chair
  • Dan Fleming

On May 11th the Search Committee had a two hour training conducted by the Northeastern District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance to learn about the committee's duties and help them feel confident to proceed.

The committee continues to meet and review resumes sent from the district office. There has been some interest but nothing notable to report at this time.

May 26th, 2023 - Interim Lead Pastor Update

Our Elder-Oversight board has appointed Adam Williams as Interim Lead Pastor. He will be the main preacher and will be helping to cast vision as we transition and search for a new Lead Pastor.

Our Youth Ministry is in good hands as Adam will continue to work with them but Brit Walker and the student interns have and will be continuing to invest in our students.

Joe Zach is joining staff! We are excited to add Joe Zach to our staff as Associate Pastor of Discipleship. He will be working with Men's ministries, Discipleship groups and assisting with preaching. Welcome to the team Joe!

Meet the Williams Family

Interim Lead Pastor

Adam, Molly, and Mae

Adam and Molly met in 2004 at UB and started dating almost right away and celebrated their 15th Wedding Anniversary last summer.  They welcomed their daughter, Mae, in 2016 who is currently in 2nd grade and loving life! The Williams have attended KAC for 18 years.

Some of Adam's favorite things to do are PLAY BOARD GAMES, agonize over the Bills, play Kan Jam, spike ball, and basketball, and do anything with people. Molly's loves to read every book she can get her hands on, talk about books, think about the next book she is going to read, watch too much TV, cook, and tap dance. Adam and Molly enjoy playing Nintendo, watching TV and movies, and traveling together. As a family, they love board games, family movie nights, reading books, and Family Saturdays. They also love to vacation together at the beach on Topsail Island, North Carolina, and on Lake Erie in Beulah Beach, Ohio.

During college, both Adam and Molly served in Campus Ministries and volunteered with Young Life. While Adam has been working in ministry at KAC since 2007, Molly has been working as a school counselor with Buffalo Public Schools since 2010. Molly was a volunteer with the Women's Ministry at KAC leading bible studies and small groups for many years prior to becoming a mom, and balancing life as a ministry wife and mother. During the pandemic, Molly was able to lead several zoom Bible studies for the women's ministry again and is looking forward to being able to resume in person ministry now that Adam's evening schedule has changed.

Adam and Molly’s vision and dream for Kenmore Alliance Church is simply that our church would continue to look more like Jesus; that KAC would love and serve WNY with a Christ-like heart. Adam and Molly pray God would guide them in their role in helping KAC achieve this vision. They are incredibly thankful for all the opportunities God has provided them to learn, love, and serve at KAC over the past 18 years.

FAQs - Things you might be wondering

How long will this process take?

Our District Superintendent said 6 months to a year would be likely. Depending on the candidate it could take more or less time.

How can I give my thoughts on the process?

We have set up a dedicated email to collect thoughts, comments and concerns. This will help streamline the information and keep it all in a single place. You can send thoughts and comments to search@kenmorealliance.com

How is the Pastor chosen/called?

According to our Bylaws, the Elder/Oversight Board call the Lead Pastor. Before that, the Search Committee will review applications, resumes and references. Once they have narrowed that down, they present the candidate to the Elders. There will be time in the process for the congregation to meet the candidate, experience their preaching and interact though no congregational vote is necessary to proceed.
