Search Committee News Update: Partnering in the Search for Our Next Lead Pastor
 
Stepping Into 2026 with Expectation 
Kenmore Alliance family, as we usher in 2026, there is a palpable sense of anticipation in our search process. A new year often brings a desire for fresh starts, but for us, it marks a pivotal moment of alignment with what God is doing in our midst.

We believe 2026 is a year of deepening our roots and expanding our reach. As we continue our mission to glorify God by making committed disciples of Jesus Christ, we are sensing a clear call to step into this year with bold faith, trusting that the "next chapter" of KAC is already being written by the Author of our faith.

Launching Our Partnership with Chemistry Staffing
To ensure we reach the widest pool of high-quality pastoral candidates, the Search Committee has officially contracted with Chemistry Staffing.

This is a strategic partnership designed to help us find the specific leader God has already appointed for Kenmore Alliance. This collaboration will significantly enhance our search by:

• Expanding Our Audience: Leveraging a vast national network to promote our Lead Pastor position far beyond our current circles. 
• Targeted Outreach: Confidentially and actively recruiting experienced leaders who align with our unique church profile and theology. 
• Professional Process Support: Providing our committee with expert guidance on candidate evaluation, vetting, and interview strategies to ensure a healthy fit for the long term. 

The Direction God is Leading Us
As we look toward the months ahead, we are not just "waiting" for a new pastor we are preparing for one. God is leading KAC to be a church that makes Disciples, one that is learning to see every area of our lives through the lens of what Jesus has done for us. 
Whether it’s through the launch of the Northtown Care Connection or our upcoming Training Ground sessions, the Spirit is moving us toward a future of greater community impact and intentional discipleship. We are confident that as we seek Him first in 2026, the right leader will be revealed in His perfect timing.

We are so excited to announce the launch of Northtown Care Connection, formerly known as KAC Serves.

With many years of growth and blessings reaching out to our community, God has made it clear that it's time to launch this independent ministry.

Northtown Care Connection has recently been incorporated and earned their non-profit status, allowing them to function in more diverse and creative ways.

As of Dec. 31, 2025, Rebecca Henderson will leave her staff role at KAC to lead this newly formed organization. To hear more details, watch this video from Rebecca's in-service announcement last week. 

The Search Committee is actively moving forward in the process of finding our new pastor. We're grateful for your continued prayers and support. We continue to actively review candidates, conduct interviews, and are working to take proactive steps that will expand our candidate pool.

A Call to Prayer and Fasting 
As we wait on the Lord in His grace and wisdom to provide the right leader for KAC, the Search Committee asks that you consider engaging in prayer and fasting alongside us.
Before we meet, members of the Search Committee take time to pray and fast, with each member focusing on a different Biblical principle and posture before the Lord as we seek our next leader. We invite you to join us in this posture of humility and dependence, praying specifically for:

• Clarity and discernment for the committee in every decision. 
• The Shepherd that God is preparing for KAC, wherever he is right now. 
• Unity throughout this process.

September News Update

The KAC Search Committee has continued to meet almost every week since May, prayerfully seeking God’s direction for our next Lead Pastor. We prayerfully seek discernment, wisdom, patience and unity; and above all, we seek God’s will with every step.  
 
Our official search began in July with a thoughtfully crafted job posting shared across social media and ministry websites. In August, we prayerfully reviewed applications, and by September, we began reaching out and scheduling interviews with potential candidates. During our process, we developed a Church Profile Document which is posted on the employment page and available for the congregation to share out within networks.  We hope the posting will continue to be shared widely among our church family and beyond, trusting that God will use these connections to bring us to the man He has already chosen to shepherd us in the days ahead.

Following each service, members of the Search Committee will be available at the Information Desk to answer questions and hear your thoughts. Our KAC Search Committee has been meeting nearly every week since May, as we seek God’s will regarding our next Lead Pastor.  We began under the leadership of Interim Pastor Bill Murphy, who is experienced in church transition, and formed the Transition Team, and now the Search Committee.  Pastor Bill coached us to organize the committee, and to develop and prayerfully consider each step of the process.  We met with CMA District Superintendent David Linn, and Dr. Sally Fry from the district, who assists in the hiring process.  We had a very helpful meeting with our current staff members, who shared what kind of gifts they hope to find in a lead pastor, and met with Evans Christian, who discussed his experience as a recent candidate, for a unique perspective.

Our group has become very cohesive, and we each take time to pray aloud as we begin each meeting.  Our prayers are for discernment, wisdom, patience and unity; and above all, we seek God’s will with every step.  We are from varied backgrounds, and our group includes current elders, current Transition Team members, and representatives of several KAC ministries.  We have all expressed appreciation for one another, and we have had “joyful communication” as one member dubbed it, considering the privilege we have in recommending a candidate to our elders for final consideration.

In July we officially “launched” with a carefully considered job posting submitted to various social media sites and websites.  It is our hope that the posting will be shared numerous times by our members and contacts, in order to reach the man God has already chosen to lead us forward.  We have received the first few resumes, and look forward to reviewing and filtering them.  We were introduced to the congregation on July 20th, and we are planning to have a representative at the Information Desk, for questions or comments.  Committee members are listed below, and we welcome your input.  We will be keeping you updated regularly, so please check our communications here, in the weekly Friday emails, and in the monthly updates handed out at the sanctuary doors.  In the meantime, please pray with us as we move forward in the journey.

We are excited to welcome Scott Fox and his wife Olivia to KAC. Scott joined our staff on July 1st and is excited to get to know the students and families. He comes to us with ministry experience, a military background, and deep Bible knowledge. Scott brings energy and excitement to KACstudents.
